Religious Education is an
8-year program. Kindergarten class is offered,
but is not mandatory.
Each year the children build upon what they have learned from the year before. This program prepares them to receive the sacraments. First Penance and First Holy Communion are usually received in the 2nd Grade, however 1st grade is required to layout a good foundation for 2nd grade.
Grades 3 through 6 are instrumental years for them to build upon and expand their knowledge, and understanding of the faith.
In the 7th grade, the students are required to pass the "Basic Faith Test", in order to continue on to the Eighth Grade. They will also be required to complete the following:
a) Prepare a Saint report on
the saint of their choice
b) Perform 30 hours of service to the community
c) Choose a Sponsor - A person chosen to serve as a mentor in the Catholic faith for the student. The sponsor must:
1) Be a Catholic in good standing
2) Have received the sacrament of Confirmation
3) Be at least 16 Years of Age
4) If married, must have a valid Catholic marriage
The sponsor will then stand with them during the Confirmation Mass held in their Eight Grade year. Student attendance at Mass on Sundays and Holy Days of Obligation is expected. Learning the faith and practicing the faith go hand in hand.

Daily Prayer for Our Seminarians
O Lord Jesus, great High Priest, We entrust our seminarians to You.
Enlighten the faculty in their guidance, spiritual directors in molding them,
And professors in instructing them. Lead our seminarians daily in Your footsteps. May they become priests who are models of purity, teachers of truth, and heroes of sacrifice. Fill them with humility and love for God and man. Transform them into apostles of Your glory and sanctifiers of souls.
Holy Mary, Queen of the Clergy, pray for them and us, now and forever. Amen.
